Multiple Awards

NOTE: You must have explicit approval from the Recipient(s) and from Sable Sable to create a Multiple Award Scroll

In some cases it is permissible to combine multiple awards into one scroll. Reasons for creating a Multiple Award Scroll vary and usually originate from some request of the recipient, but might also be suggested by the scribe. A Multiple can also be done for a couple, but these are rarely approved by Sable Sable, as the risk of two people “splitting company” is too high.

Multiple Award Scroll texts must always be written to show the correct chronological order of the awards, i.e., from the first bestowed to the last, and should be adapted to suit all of the different awards being documented.

Model #1:
Design the scroll as a diptych or triptych (or other for x number of awards), having one award per panel. In this model, the recipient’s name may be included just once overall, or in the text of each award. The overall design should include space for only “one” Kingdom Seal, but should plan for each set of Royal Signatures under each award text.

If the scroll is to include the recipient’s heraldic achievement, this is portrayed only once and the heraldic blazon is also included only once, employing words like “as depicted and blazoned herein”, or “as here set forth” used appropriately in the texts of the other awards. A design containing an heraldic achievement must include space for “one” Black Lion’s Seal, with Black Lion’s signature and any planned verification text appearing only once overall.

Model #2:
Incorporate all of the awards into one continuous text. In this model, the recipient’s name may be included just once overall, or may be repeated throughout the text, as appropriate. The design should include space for “one” Kingdom Seal and only the signatures of the most recent Royalty. Additionally, the scroll text needs to be worded to indicate that the signing Royalty is confirming the acts of all other Royalty listed, as well as Their own action in bestowing the final award.

If the scroll is to include the recipient’s heraldic achievement, this is portrayed only once and the heraldic blazon is also included only once in the text. The design must include space for “one” Black Lion’s seal. Black Lion’s signature and any planned verification text also are to appear only once.
